I made a post in the other thread concerning the sim, thanking everyone involved for working to get this fixed. I'd like to do so here as well. I very much appreciate that we have the sim back in working order.

Hey the simulator is a GOOD THING.. it adds gameplay.. period.. There is only so much to this game. Anyone who read the review at TenTonHammer HERE http://www.tentonhammer.com/previews/CC-TA. Would have most likely avoided this game except die hard fans of the series.. or maybe people with limited game experience .. or people that LOVE killing time on stuff like this and web based games.
As for worrying about people leaving the game after capping up and being "done" or getting so far to the point of enough is enough and would no longer support this game or spend money on it due to the sim, this cant possibly be realistic fear. Personally i will stay and play this game.. simulator goes.. i go to. Only thing i can say about this is.. Why isnt there one in the game already? Why not make a buildable building that costs plenty or slightly more than the CY/Army HQ.. the more you upgrade it the more simulation you can do in a day... why not add neat graphics to this game "Running simultations command.... stand by"... screen goes all .. black and white .. then to "Running Simultations Commander".. Processing power spent.. no more simulation available.. lvl 5 Army Intelligence HQ offers 10 simulation per DAY.. no hours.. no Command Points.. lvl 10 offeres 20 or 25.. or w/e .. but not 1:1 that would be dumb.. and it takes a hell a long time to do things.. anyways.. This game was not hard before yet it was a huge waste of time WAITING for very small set command point amounts and not getting much out of it in the long run. I wasnt even tapping into the repair time .. or even getting 1/3rd into it until After i found said simulator ... and guess what? MONEY WAS SPENT =O FACT. Do i believe its cheating.. no i believe its in the grey area of the game. What it DOES DO.. is allow you to really play the CORE of the game.. the CORE of any C&C game.. is the COMBAT! Something this game lacks on a massive scale.. compared to ALL of the other C&C games. The simulator does not structure units in your favor. It does not offer tips or tricks on what units to use. You have to spend YOUR TIME.. figuring it out. And it lets you see what the battlefield units are capable of. The game to me.. in the C&C universe is a very neat idea. I would love to see an actual game with this kinda base idea and territory and allies.. and a WORLD except with.. ya know.. ION storms.. lots of nasty ones.. The most dissapointing thing about this game.. is that you can attack the forgotten but they cant attack you..and destroy your base changing that would balance this game out nicely. And actually make being in an Alliance more useful.. besides the INSANE stacked bonus's just being in an alliance gives you. Sim or no sim. .. Oh also.. if this is the Tiberian.. / Tiberium .. universe.. where the hell are the Ion Storms?.. And whats with using the Crawler as the HQ?.. in C&C 4 .. there was no base.. hardly at all.. .. but hey maybe this could be the game that shows the C&C crew that combining the best of both worlds could actually sell you guys something.. I'm wondering if certain aspects of the scripts could be added to the game in house,
just to make things quicker and easier for players. Using an auto formation thing clearly isn't really fair, and takes using your brain out of the equation. But being able to collect all resource packages (at least per base) with 1 click, would help things a long a lot. And being able to shift your formation left or right, front to back, and even mirror, are awesome features. You may not be thinking about users playing on laptops, using just the touchpad...lol, try it, it takes a lot longer. And while the Combat Simulator "refresh" button, may have made things to quick and easy, I don't think the actual combat simulator was a bad thing. If anything, it keeps players on longer, trying to find out a good combination for attacking. |
