Low FPS? Here's how to "fix" it
I decided to make a separate thread for the "laggy" and low FPS issues that have been haunting us for the past 2-3 months.
These are done on a 7 years old quad core CPU, so your experience will likely be better anyway.

= FPS on Firefox 47 64bit and Chrome 50 =

- Scrolling at maximum zoom in -
= FPS on Chrome 47 64bit Portable =

Download links for Chrome 47 (legit google.com links):
32 bit >here
64 bit >here

or Portable, which is what I'm using in the GIF:
32 bit >here
64 bit >here

Portable can be used and launched separately/in addition to your current Chrome browsers.
I haven't tested older portable Firefox clients.

Obviously, the best solution is to keep waiting for the devs to update the game to run properly on the most current version of our browsers, so don't use the older ones for anything else, to avoid potential incidents.

Is there an easy way to get all the extensions into the portable chrome from the normal one?

No Not really. You have reinstall everything manually. You might go for one of the script packs.

You can drag and drop the .js files, if you can find them in your Chrome folders.
That's how I did Firefox > Chrome, although Chrome is unnecessarily restrictive and deactivates/deletes some of them.

On a Linux box (Fedora 24 workstation) and with Firefox 49.0 default installation I get 5-10 fps per second.

After tuning a few FireFox 49 options, I now run at 24 fps.
