Full Version: Zone troopers worth it?

Zone Troopers and Predators are comparable with the relation between Missile Squads and Pitbulls: slow speed/small range/somewhat higher firepower vs. fast speed/wide range/a bit less firepower.

The last video shows that they take more damage from a buster than riflemen/rocket guys.

Looks like to me that they took the pair of Zone Troopers took more damage because of the Bowler. While the one on the right got some damage from the Anti-tank Barrier and the Buster. It wasn't what I would call more damage then they would have if they faced a Riflemen.

Ah. Another pro for Zone Troopers I guess - they can cross Tank barriers unharmed (or so it would seem).
Yeah, i have to admit that i am not to sure about the "more damage from buster" thing when comparing Rocket guys and ZTs, but this is only one video after all. What i am pretty sure of: Rocket guys and ZTs take more damage from busters than Riflemen. The difference between RG and ZTs was more a feeling, as most of the time you can´t really say where every 10% of damage really came from(one unit slower than the other/RGs damage Buster while being shot at etc....).
I changed my army from vehicle to mixed only a few levels ago, so my experience with the specific damages taken in regards of infantry is still somewhat limited. So someone else: Experiences?

Aye, then it's as it should be. I haven't really noticed how much anti-tank barriers the Forgotten tend to have though.

I think I need to make the same sort of change (9 vehicles, 4 aircraft at the moment, levels 14-16), do you have any advice on a good mixed army composition to go with? Its hard to make out exactly what you're using in your videos.

The exact composition will vary depending on your tastes, but good infantry units to use are a Sniper Team and 2 Commandos for sure. You can then throw in 1-2 more infantry units based on what you need most. I would say Zone Troopers for some extra anti-vehicle or Missile Squads for taking down Busters without sending in a Commando.

For vehicles, I would say to only have 3-4 Guardians 2-3 Predators, and either 2-3 Pitbulls or 2 Juggernauts.

For aircraft, I would say to have 3 Firehawks (real players don't need to spam them to win) and 2 Orcas. You can even throw in a Paladin if you need the extra anti-vehicle.



The suggested loadout above still leans mostly on vehicles, so you may want to cut out a vehicle or 2 to help keep those repair points down.

Yup. The Missile Squad will take a lot of damage but he will win in a 1 on 1. Note that it will take him several moments to finish the job, so don't send in vehicles too quickly. Sending 2 MS's at once makes the destruction of Busters go much faster.
